Jacqueline Ferrera

Obituary of Jacqueline Michelle Ferrera

Jacqueline Michelle Ferrera, age 83, of Lutz, Florida passed away on Monday September 11, 2023 after a long battle with cancer.

She was born on November 24th, 1939, in Tampa, Florida to Bea Mena and Jack Le Frank. Jackie moved from Ybor City to Lutz where she lived in the house the love of her life, John Ferrera, built for them. Together they went on many adventures including running countless races, sailing, car shows, and traveling all over the United States. Before her retirement, she worked as a lunch lady at Maniscalco Elementary School where she spent her days caring for and feeding the children of Lutz. She was lucky enough to have many wonderful close friendships that followed her through her life. In her final days she spoke of having a good life and all of the wonderful places she got to see including France, Spain, and Italy.

She loved purple, bingo, gardening, traveling, finding a good bargain, testing her luck in casinos, and making others laugh. She was lovingly referred to as being “bad to the bone” because of her undeniable resilience and optimism in the face of health issues and challenges over the years.

She is predeceased by her mother Bea Mena, father Jack Le Frank, and loving husband John Ferrera.

She is survived by her daughter Debbie O’Hearn, son-in-law Dennis O’Hearn, granddaughter Jessica O’Hearn, as well as many loving members of extended family and friends.

While we are grateful to know she is now at peace, she will be deeply missed.

A graveside service will take place at 12:30pm on October 5th at Florida National Cemetery. Words of comfort may be expressed for Jackie’s family by clicking “Tribute Wall”
