Obituary of Susan Smith Murray

Susan (susu) Smith Murray, 75, passed away on March 17th, 2022 surrounded by her family. Susan was born in Ocala, Fl, however most of her adult life was spent in Miami and Tampa Florida.
Susan is preceded in death by her parents, Mary Kate & William Smith and her son Todd Murray.
She is survived by her loving husband Larry Murray, her son Monty (Karen) Murray, her daughters Kelly(Tony) Lazzara and Kim (Kevin) Bell, her daughter-In-law Kristin Murray, her brother Charlie (Janet) Smith and sister Sally Eddy and sister-in-law Pat (Ken) Novak. Susan had 10 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and 2 who will be born later this year as well as multiple nieces and nephews.
Susan and Larry were high school sweethearts who have been married nearly 60 years. They enjoyed traveling, golfing and boating in their early years. The most recent years, Susan simply enjoyed being with her family. Susan was an amazing cook and loved making her children and grandchildren their favorite meals. Susan was the ultimate caregiver, she was born to be a mother. She raised 4 children and when they were grown she volunteered at Guardian ad Litem with the hopes of helping other children. She also volunteered at The Spring and Hospice. When her children were young, she was a coach, team mom, score keeper and a second mom to many of their friends. Susan loved animals (especially dogs) and never complained when one would end up at the house, she simply cared for them too.
Her presence is already missed tremendously by her family. A Celebration of life will be held on April 16th from 5-8 pm at 19414 N US Hwy 41. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made in honor of her son, Todd to The Murray Family Foundation.
