Obituary of Ruth Farmer

Ruth Elizabeth Farmer, originally of Atlanta Georgia passed away peacefully in her sleep on Friday, January 14, 2022 in Lutz, Florida. She was born on December 27, 1935 in Atlanta, Georgia to Katherine E. Guthrie and George H. Guthrie; the third of four children. She will be remembered for her love of life, family and friends, dedication as a LifePath Hospice volunteer, a member of the Citizen Police Academy for Pasco Sheriffs Office and volunteer at the Pasco County Jail in Land O’ Lakes, Florida. Her love for animals was apparent by her dedication to animal rescue and adoption.

She leaves her son David Cauthen, daughter Cindy and husband Lou Giokas, son Billy and wife Karen Cauthen, a sister Katherine T. Guthrie and brother Frank Guthrie, grandchildren Michele, Melissa, Ashley and Erica, great-grandchildren Mathew, Brianna, Madison, Makaylah, Malakhi, Gus, Ella, Amelia and Landon.

She is preceded in death by her mother Katherine E. Guthrie and brother Earl Guthrie.

A small private memorial service is planned for immediate family members only. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, that donations be sent to your local ASPCA or The Alzheimer’s Association.
