Kathy Fechter

Obituary of Kathy Fechter

Kathy Fechter, 69 of San Antonio, Florida passed away peacefully on Friday, May 14, 2021 surrounded by loved ones.  Kathy was born on November 1st, 1951 in Rice Lake Wisconsin, to the late Claude Zoch Sr. & Joan Bestor.   Kathy spent most of her life living in various parts of Wisconsin including Manitowoc, Mosinee, Neenah, Appleton & Hortonville until she moved to Florida almost 2 years ago with her partner Joe Wisinski.   She graduated in 1969 from Lincoln High School in Manitowoc, Wisconsin and on June 26, 1971 Kathy married the love of her life Frank Fechter.  Kathy worked for several employers throughout her life including Appleton Wire and 15 plus years with Shopko Stores working in the photo lab, but her greatest passion was raising her children – Mark, Jodi & Eric.  She spent much of her time shuttling them from sporting events and practices, music lessons and to various school events. When she wasn’t carting the kids around, you would find her in the kitchen making everything delicious from poppy seed cake bread to pork roast, sauerkraut and dumplings. Kathy and Frank also loved to travel.  During their lives together, they were fortunate enough to travel to Hawaii, San Francisco, Boston, Bermuda, Rome, Jamaica and the south of France.  Kathy received great joy watching her children and grandchildren participate in sporting events, plays and various activities & events.  After moving to Florida, Kathy loved traveling to the many beautiful beaches in the Tampa area.  Her favorite beach that she frequented often with Joe was Honeymoon Island Beach.  She will ultimately be remembered by those that knew her as selfless and someone who would give you everything she had.

Kathy is survived by her partner, Joe Wisinski; children, Mark (Angela) Fechter, Jodi (Jeff) Kozlovsky and Eric (Jennifer) Fechter; 6 marvelous grandchildren, Dominick, Jocelyn, Elise, Cameron, Braiden and Mara; and one great granddaughter expected in October.  Kathy was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Fechter (2017) and her brother, Claude Zoch Jr. (2012).

A private funeral service for the family will be held on Thursday, May 27, 2021 at Loyless Funeral Home.  A celebration of life will also be held in Wisconsin at a later date, where she will be laid to rest next to her husband Frank.
