Dale Martin

Obituary of Dale Todd Martin

Dale Martin was one of a kind. Guaranteed he was like nobody else you ever knew. He had this way of finding the humor in every situation, and I know his commentary still plays in the back of the minds of all those close to him. He loved his boys. They were his pride and joy and he loved teaching them all the best redneck and manly things that this world has to offer. Mudding, fishing, hunting, riding whatever he could find that went fast and gave a thrill, doing backflips off of anything and everything that had a body of water next to it - these were just a few of his favorite past times. If there was an adventure to be had, Dale would find it, and if you were nearby and someone he liked being around, chances are he would drag you along on it with him. It didn’t matter if it was 2 am or if you really didn’t want to go. Everyone had a moment with Dale Martin. He had a way of making you feel special with the way he gave you a hard time, and you know exactly what I’m talking about if you knew him. He had a good heart, he was brave, fearless, and loyal; and if he loved you, you knew it with every fiber of your being. He would do anything to protect the people he loved - whatever the cost. The most important thing in this world to him was his family, and he loved them fiercely. He always felt that the birth of his two boys was his greatest accomplishment, and he couldn’t talk about them without smiling. They were everything to him, and all he ever wanted since the day they were born was to be a good Dad to them. His legacy lives on through Wesley Dale and Colton Todd.

He took his last breath here on earth and his first breath in Heaven on Tuesday, November 24, 2020. Dale loved Jesus and they had a relationship like best friends who even if they hadn’t talked in a while, could catch up as no time had passed. He cried out to him during his deepest pain and celebrated with him during his greatest joys. I have no doubt that he is with Him in glory, playing little pranks on us all and pointing and laughing at us the way he always did when he got you good. He’s up there watching over his boys and guiding them through this life until they meet him in Heaven.

The memorial will be held Saturday, December 5, 2020, at 2 pm at Pastor Jake English’s home, a place Dale loved, at 5832 Drexel Rd. Land O Lakes, FL 34638. The family asks that in honor of his memory and in celebration of his life, guests wear Orange and Blue. After all, if it was a Saturday in the fall, Dale would be cheering on the Gators.
