Wonderful memories of fellowship when Cecil brought us printing tasks to do for the ministry when my late husband and I owned the printing company in Fairfax VA. We were invited to a dinner and presentation to diplomats and enjoyed the fellowship there. I would sometimes call Cecil to explain a scripture that needed deeper understanding, and he patiently would describe the meaning. Heaven is his home, and our warmth has followed him there.

I've known Cecil for about 30 years, when I called on him to do a presentation of his ministry to internationals and the diplomatic community in the D.C. area at the church where I was pastor. We did many ministry projects and became great friends. The highlight for me was the bible study he started at the World Bank building in Washington DC. We'll always remember the trip to the Alps when he visited our family in Germany. Thank you, Cecil, for your friendship and support all these years. I know we'll see you in Heaven.

My deepest condolences to the entire family for the recent losses. My prayers and thoughts are with you. I was deeply saddened when I heard of Cecil's passing. Cecil, like his brother who also recently passed, was my cousin and I will always have very fond memories of growing up with him in Canal. He will be greatly missed. May he rest in peace.

We knew that Cecil was a diplomat and international minister, but as neighbors for about 35 years we also knew him as a man. Often side by side we mowed lawns and shoveled snow. We shared our homes at backyard barbecues and special dinners such as Thanksgiving and Christmas. We frequently sat together on a bench in front of either his house or ours and talked about our families, technology and we together solved world problems. We heard of his US and world travels. Cecil was a great strength during Donna’s fight against cancer- and we rejoiced together with her victory over the cancer. We often walked together along the creek that flowed behind our houses. Cecil was a humble man, yet a strong role model as he lived his life, the life of a man of God. He will be sorely missed- but not forgotten.

My friendship with Cecil is through Trinity Baptist Church in Hyattsville, MD. He spoke many times at our church and was a person who spoke the truth of God's word. I will always treasure my friendship with him.
My sympathy to the family, may you find comfort during this time as God strengthens your heart with His love and peace.

Cecil was our wonderful neighbor for over 28 years. We missed him the minute he left for Florida and are so sorry to hear of his passing. We have many memories of Eugene and Diana while they were in residence. We mussed with Cecil about the weather, people and politics on a regular basis. We survived Snowmageddon, Hurricane Isabel, the great ice storm and other neighborhood trials. Many times it was Cecil's positive attitude that helped us endure. We feel fortunate to have had Cecil and his family as our neighbors and friends.

Cecil is one of reasons Viers Mill Baptist is like home to me and many others. His joyful spirit was contagious. And his singing was angelic. Gonna miss him the next time I visit Viers Mill. My deepest condolences to the family. Pastor Tim Hunter

Cecil, is an amazing man of God. He was my friend, my brother, my mentor and a father figure to me. I cherish the blessing God has given to me in being a servant to this wonderful man. My Brother I know where you’ve gone, you now behold His glory the place your heart so long. You have left us your legacy of a servants heart well lived, and from your heart freely you give. You no longer need a walker, no longer need a cane, you are made whole for that reason our savior came. No more loneliness, no more tears, no more sleepless nights for the joyful chorus of heaven’s choir now touches your ears. Cecil my Friend, my Brother, my Spiritual Father, one day myself and all the saints will join you in forever eternity, worshiping, bowing down, and praising the one who makes all things new, and you my friend lived a life of salvation you knew to be true. Love you Cecil, and thank you!
