Hannelore Eberhart

Obituary of Hannelore Eberhart

If it were not for the events that encompasses our lives during these uncertain times, I wish I could have held your hand and seen you when you needed me the most. You provided a good life for your family and taught us that diligence and determination will pay off in the end. You taught us that traveling about the world, by going to different lands and cultures, you will learn more about yourself. You traveled the world and I have done the same and I have learned more about myself, and that an open mind, and open heart will make you a better man, be accepting of those different and immerse yourself, and you will be a better man. Thank You Mom. What you have achieved in your life, to this day astounds me, first and foremost being our Mother, after we were grown you achieved one of the highest grades for a civilian employee as an Army Budget analyst, working with Colin Powell, and working in the German Embassy as a Liaison between the U.S. and German Army. You were instrumental to raising my son David, as a single parent you were the mother he never had.

I must admit you were tough on us, and for good reason, but “wait until your father gets home” he was tougher, and for good reason. Though both of you have gone, I carry with me the tools I need to live with. I believe this shows now during some of the worst times we live in now, we survive by making the best of a situation, and thinking of consequences by our actions. We must pick ourselves up from the heel straps, brush off the dirt, and get back to business. The world is filled with the good and the bad, try to be on the good side, and your world will be a better place. You left when the world was in a bad place, but I will try to make our world better. Love the world and she will love you back. Know that I will try my best to hold on to what you taught us. I may have disappointed you, but I have made you proud.

I held my promise to Dad that I will do everything in my power to watch over you when he is gone, and I did, and I hope that it was enough.

Hannelore is survived by her loving sons, Harry and his wife, Yolima and John Eberhart and also her grandchildren, David, Adrian, Erin and Sydney. She was predecased by her husband, John on November 22, 1999.
