Obituary of Ellen Yost

 Ellen ‘Gail’ Yost, age 75, passed away December 31, 2019, at a Tampa hospital after a brief illness. She was preceded in death by her father, George Yost, and mother, Macie Yost. She is survived by her siblings, Ron Yost of Bluefield, Virginia, Larry Yost of Tampa, Florida, and Barbara Lyons of Kingsport, Tennessee. She was a sister-in-law to Anne Karen Yost, Ruby Yost, and Mike Lyons, and an aunt to Lori Hale, Kara Quick, Lee Yost, Jeff and Jason Lyons.  She was beloved by several grand nieces and nephews. 

Gail spent most of her life in Bluefield, Virginia. She was a 1963 graduate of Graham High School. She worked for Kroger until she moved to Tampa, Florida, where she decided to retire to enjoy the sunshine. She never forgot her mountain roots and requested to be buried in Bluefield. 

Gail didn’t have any children but she was always a mother to her family whom she loved deeply. She always remembered every birthday and anniversary, and especially enjoyed family gatherings where she could contribute everyone’s favorite homemade goodies.  She was a kind person who put others first.

She was a member of Lake Magdalene Methodist Church in Tampa. 

Services will be conducted by Reverend Gary Lyons at the Grandview Memory Gardens Mausoleum, Bluefield, on Saturday, January 11 at 11 a.m.  Family and friends are invited to Graham Christian Church immediately after the services for a light meal.
