Obituary of James Guinan

GUINAN, James “Jim”, 83, of Lutz, FL passed away April 1, 2009 at University Community Hospital in Tampa. He was born in Ireland and moved to Lutz from Garrison, NY one year ago. He owned and operated Guinan’s Country Store for almost 50 years in Garrison, NY. He was a member of Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church in Land O’ Lakes, founding member of Garrison Volunteer Ambulance Corporation, member of the Garrison Volunteer Fire Company, member of the Garrison Fish and Game Club and dock master at the Garrison Yacht Club. He was the 1998 Grand Marshall for the Peekskill, NY St Patrick’s Day Parade. Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret in 1988 and son, John in 2008. He is survived by his son, James of San Francisco, CA; two daughters, Margaret Guinan of Westchester, NY and Christine and husband, Michael D’Onofrio of Lutz, FL; daughter-in-law, Mary Jane Guinan of Fishkill, NY; five brothers, John, Terrance and Brian, all of Ireland and Bernard and Donald both of England; five sisters, Kathleen, Sheila, Mary and Bridget all of England and Phyllis of Louisville, KY; eight grandchildren; one great grandchild and many nieces and nephews.
