I've only known John for a few years, but he was one of the most genuine, nicest, caring, and, of course, funniest people I have had an opportunity to work with. Never to busy to help and always willing to share his abundance of knowledge. A rare person who led by his example. God bless the Sarris family. There will never be another like him. You are so very missed.

I am lost for words. John was one of the nicest people to know. If you needed help at work, he went out of his way to help you. Also spent a lot of time outside of work. If not softball, it was bowling. Prayers to Roe and his family. RIP brother. You will be missed but not forgotten

"Leadership is not a position or a title, it is action and an example". John, I've learned so much from you. Your kindness and willingness to go the extra step in helping everyone with a smile and a funny joke. You fought a good fight, I will always remember you. RIP!

John you died too young. I have nothing but great memories of all of us ( the 10th Avenue boys) hanging out on 10th Avenue, the parkside, the schoolyard and our 1st concert the one to one concert with John Lennon. It was you, me, Vito and Clarity. We were only 14 years old and that was awesome. I appreciate your friendship and will always have memories of all the great times we had. Then here I am in Union NJ in early 2000 with a friend and we stop at this sandwich coffee shop to get a bite and I say to my friend that the woman behind the counter looks like a friend of mine. Her name is Roe Sarris and she's married to my friend John Sarris from the neighborhood. It had to be 20 years or so that we haven't seen each other. It's hard to describe the feelings that were going through me but I tell you they were unbelievable. Roe calls John we go to their house and I just wish we had more time to talk, catch up and reminisce when I was there. I have photos from that day . I believe you moved to Florida about that time. Then many many more years pass and connected on FB. I got to see your life and your beautiful family through pictures. So RIP my friend my brother. You were a great guy and I'll always remember your laugh. John the man, the husband, the father, the grandfather. Brother, Uncle , friend etc. You will be missed. RIP John my brother till we meet again.

John was a class act and gone from us far to soon. Always willing to help, great at what he did, honest, and trustworthy. John was always the first person that came to mind when I needed to know anything related to reorganizations - his knowledge was encyclopedic and if he didn't know the answer himself, he made certain it was found immediately. He was a great boss, colleague, friend, and neighbor. My heartfelt condolences to Roe and the rest of John's family...Kelly Kilroy and Kelly McCarthy, Tampa, FL.

My condolences to the family. John was such a good Supervisor to work with and learn from. I was always impressed with his integrity and how he treated those that reported to him. I remember John saying that if he won the lottery, he would strip nake and dance on a certain person’s desk.
I pray that at the end of this new journey he will be dancing.
