Sandra Ries

Obituary of Sandra Ries

With deepest sadness, we announce the passing of our loving mother, Sandra Ries, of Seminole Florida on September 17, 2021, at Suncoast Hospice in Pinellas Park, Fl. She was born July 2, 1935 in Wausau, Wisconsin, the daughter of Gerald and Carolyn Plant.

Sandra began her career as a stewardess for TWA in 1955. She later worked for private domestic and Caribbean charters. She also worked as an Administrative Assistant for several years before her retirement.

Travelling was her passion, and she took many trips with her husband, daughters and friends throughout the US and to international destinations including the Caribbean, Latin America, Europe, Australia and Asia. She also cherished spending time with her grandson, Kevin, taking road trips from New Jersey to Florida with many fun and adventurous stops along the way. She was an avid fan of the Tampa Bay Rays Baseball Team, attending games in person or watching them on TV. She never missed a game. You could hear her cheer for the Rays from far away.

Sandra spent her childhood summers on the family farm in Wisconsin. She was blessed with many aunts and uncles who helped to create wonderful memories. Sandra raised her family in New Jersey, and upon her retirement moved permanently to Florida.

Sandra will be remembered by her love of family and friends, her beautiful smile and joyful sense of humor, as well as her kindness and generosity. She lived each day to the fullest.

Sandra was predeceased by her husband William P. Ries, her parents Gerald and Carolyn Plant, her brother Jay, her son Kevin, and daughter Cari.

Sandra is survived by her 2 daughters, Lori Jolly of St. Petersburg, Fl and Teri Wilcox (Keith) of Seminole, Fl, her stepson Daniel Ries (Sideeka) of Darien Ct, grandson, Kevin Jolly of Seattle, Wa as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

A private Memorial and Celebration of Sandra’s life will be held at a later date.
