Obituary of Ernest Carlton Morris

Ernest C. Morris, 74 of Lutz, Florida passed away on April 21, 2021 in Tampa, Florida.  He was born in Utica, New York on October 24, 1946. He served in the United States Navy as well as the Tampa Police Department in the Aviation Authority, where he retired after 20 plus years of service. He was a proud graduate of Notre Dame High School where he played both basketball and football and made sure he attended every reunion.

He is survived by his sons, Mikeal Morris (37) and Brad Morris (31) (Laci Morris, spouse), as well as his daughter, Sabrina Femia (50). He is also survived by his five grandchildren, Vincenza Femia, Rocco Femia, III, Antonio Femia, Trae Morris, and Britnilyn Morris. He was the son of Joseph and Nelly Morris, and has one brother, David Morris, whom he loved dearly. He is preceded in death by his father, mother, and brother.

He was a proud and loving father and grandfather who would do anything for his kids and grandchildren. He was a kind and patient man who loved his family, fishing, cars, and to joke and laugh. He was caretaker to his grandson and granddaughter and taught us all many life lessons. The greatest being that patience is a virtue and family above all else. He was a great man, and he will be greatly missed and loved forever.

The family will be holding private services. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to James A. Haley Veterans’ Hospital.
