Obituary of Wanda Lee Padgett

Wanda Lee Padgett, 85, of Land O’Lakes, Florida passed away Wednesday, February 17, 2021 at Gulfside Hospice following a lengthy illness.  She was born in Erwin, TN and came to Florida in 1982.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard G and Lillian Edwards, spouse Glynn G Padgett and six sisters and four brothers.  Lee is survived by her son, Timothy (spouse Linda) of Land O’Lakes; two granddaughters, Jennifer Bradley of Clinton, TN and Rachelle Jackson of Zephyrhills, FL; one grandson, F Wayne Crooks of Otwell, IN.  She was proud great-grandmother of two girls, Lindsay and Lexie, and two boys, Jared and Dalton; great-great-grandmother to one boy, Brantlee and two girls, Lillian and Nora; along with several doting nieces and nephews.  Lee worked and retired as a Registered Nurse at the C W ‘Bill’ Young VA Hospital Medical Center in Bay Pines, FL.  She was a member of the Baptist church, although physically unable to attend a brick-and-mortar church, who devoutly read her Bible and other religious publications.  Her hobbies included gardening, walking, reading, and playing with her son’s dog, Gus.  Lee was also affiliated with many organizations including the Republican Party of Florida, National Republican Party and the Sierra Club. In lieu of flowers, the family request that a donation be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
