I always admired watching Mr. Furey come to Mass every weekend at St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church. I would see him praying his rosary next to the Blessed Sacrament. He would fall asleep and would seem so much at peace. God shine your light of mercy on this humble and yet inspiring soul.

To Jim's entire family,
What a wonderful and spiritual man! I know that he will be missed. And I am certain that Jim and Kathleen are very happy to be reunited once again in God's kingdom! They both loved and were very proud of their children and their grandchildren! (many stories) You were blessed to have them as a great example and guide during your lives.
May the Lord welcome Jim home into His loving embrace; and may He bless Jim's family and friends with his love, peace and comfort during this difficult time.

Mel and family, So sorry to hear of your dad's passing. Your mom and dad were both so pleasant to wait on at Publix. Great parents and I loved them both.

To all of the Jim and Kathleen Furey family (especially Sean a.k.a. Fungus),
I first met your parents over 60 years ago when you lived on North Adams Street in Carroll. Sean took me to your house after school in second or third grade and I met your mom and those of you who were alive then. What a joyful, crazy scene! Kathleen was so calm and friendly and welcoming to me as she would be over the many years I visited your home. And every visit was full of laughter, interesting converstion, and usually a significant degree of impropriety.
Your dad had a unique style of parenting, but like your mom, he was always genuinely interested in me, asked me questions, and then truly listened to my answer. He looked so fit his last few years. And who can ever forget his rapid waking pace to and from his law office all those years.
The family created by Jim and Kathleen is something any parent would be very proud of. All of you are so unique and accomplished and have such great families yourselves. Fungus, and your whole family, were such important parts of my childhood that I remember with deep fondness. May God bless all of you. RIP Jim. Marty Kanne a.k.a. Angus

Mr. Furey was a valued member of St. Marks Cancer Support Ministry. He was a wonderful, kind, grateful, religious man and touched everyone's lives who knew him. We are celebrating his life and praying for God to bless Jim's soul. Picture is American Cancer Society 2019 Relay for Life.
